Arcade Fire najavili novi album i podelili video za pesmu “The Lightning I, II”
Arcade Fire su najavili novi album, "WE", i podelili video za prvi singl, “The Lightning I, II”. "WE" je album koji dolazi nakon pauze od pet godina i trebao bi izaći 6. maja za izdavačku kuću Columbia. Emily Kai Bock režirala je crno-beli video za “The Lightning I, II”.
"WE" je šesti studijski album benda i naslednik je albuma "Everything Now" iz 2017. U poslednjih pet godina razni članovi benda su bili zauzeti solo albumima i pratećim projektima. Godine 2019. bend je takođe doprineo obradi pesme „Baby Mine“ za rimejk filma "Dambo" Tima Bartona.
Win Butler i Régine Chassagne producirali su "WE" sa Nigelom Godrichom. Album je sniman u New Orleansu, El Pasu i Mount Desert Islandu. U saopštenju za javnost se navodi da je sedam pesama na albumu podeljeno na "dve različite strane", pri čemu je prva strana naslovljena "I"( "ja" ) i "kanalizira strah i usamljenost izolacije", a druga strana pod nazivom "WE" ("MI") i "izražava radost i moć ponovnog povezivanja.”
U saopštenju za javnost, Win Butler kaže da je rad na "WE" bio „najduže što smo ikada proveli pišući, bez prekida, verovatno ikad“. Will Butler je takođe podelio sledeću izjavu:
